Instructions

    Line a standard 12-hole muffin tin with paper liners.

    Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or rolling pin. Mix with melted butter until evenly combined.

    Divide crumb mixture into muffin tin holes and press firmly to create bases.

    In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add icing sugar, Nutella, and vanilla extract; beat again until well blended.

    Pour in cream and beat 2–3 minutes until mixture becomes fluffy like frosting.

    Spoon filling over prepared bases, smoothing tops. Refrigerate at least 3 hours or freeze 30 minutes for a quicker set (Note 5).

    Whip cream with sugar until soft peaks form. Pipe or dollop onto chilled cheesecakes.

    Warm Nutella in a ziplock bag (15 seconds in microwave), snip corner, and drizzle over cheesecakes. (Note 6)

    Serve cold. Store in fridge until ready to serve (Note 7).

Recipe Notes

  • Use Oreos whole with filling for the base. Substitutes: 1 cup Graham Cracker crumbs, Arnott’s Marie, or digestive crackers with added butter and sugar.

  • Ensure cream is heavy whipping cream that can be whipped, not pouring cream.

  • Nutella drizzle enhances flavour and appearance since only limited Nutella can be incorporated in the filling while maintaining texture.

  • If using a stand mixer, fit paddle attachment for smooth blending.

  • Refrigerate at least 3 hours before serving. For faster setting, freeze for 30 minutes.

  • Nutella can also be microwaved in a bowl and drizzled with a spoon instead of piping.

  • Best served chilled. Will hold shape for about 1 hour at 20°C/70°F. Keep refrigerated if warmer.
